Herbert Willingham

Dickerson Mortuary announces the passing of Mr. Herbert Willingham, who transitioned on Friday, October 18, 2024.  The family of Mr. Herbert Lee Willingham invites you to attend his celebration of life services on Friday, October 25, 2024 @ 11:00am at New Francis Brown United Methodist Church 2517 Corona St., North Charleston, SC., 29405. Internment: Sunset Memorial Gardens

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Brown Willingham; daughter and son-in-law, Veronica and Chief Warrant Officer 4 Danny Walton; brother, Jimmie L. Edwards; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Taylor and Floyd Cid. He leaves to cherish fond memories: two daughters and a son—Monica (James) Scott, Verneshea (Stacy) Green, and Derrick Willingham.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Brandon Bodrick Walton, Christian Scott, Danielle (Jacob) Jernigan, Stacy Green Jr., Taliyah Green, Jordan Scott, Jhol Green, Sean Willingham, and Elyse Willingham; as well as four great-grandchildren: Olivia Bodrick, Journee’ Bodrick, Jhasiah Green, and Amya Collins. Additionally, he is survived by three sisters: Ernestine Taylor, Penelope Bowman, and Jennifer Cid; and four brothers: Walter Bowman, James (Audrey) Brailsford, Eric (Ray) Bowman, and Vincent Bowman. He is fondly remembered by a host of family, classmates, and devoted friends. 

Viewing for Mr. Willingham will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Dickerson Mortuary, LLC., (Ollie M. Dickerson Memorial Chapel).
