Ebonne Daveda Just was born on May 15, 1978, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Fran and the late Daniel Just. She was raised alongside her brother, Tauryn and sisters, Samantha and Renee. She was a child of the 80's drinking water from the garden hose, roaming the neighborhood via bike, and coming home when the street lights come on. She danced almost as soon as she could walk, at 3 attending Julie Dahl Studio of Dance, and ended her time as a student at Bellevue Dance Academy at age 18. Dance was a place where she made friends, showcased her talents, and was able to lead.
Ebonne attend Catholic schools, completing her secondary education at Marian High School. She went on to Northwest Missouri State College, where she was a member of the Wildcats Dance Team. She transferred after one year to the University of Nebraska becoming the first African American on the Cornhuskers Scarlett Dance Team. She spent her summers as a head instructor for the National Dance Alliance (NDA). She led and instructed dance camps for thousands of dancers across the United States.
After three years, she decided it wasn't the right time for college and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. In Tulsa, she co-founded Cheer Dynamix and Move Dance Company. Ebonne led her teams to numerous regional and national championships. As a head coach, choreographer, and mentor, the lives she touched through dance are countless. Her legacy as a dance coach will forever memorialized in MTV's reality series Mada (Season 3, Episode 4).
Ebonne knew what she wanted next and relocated to Chicago. There, she built a circle of friends and worked her way through college. She graduated from Columbia College summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. She gained experience in brand development, marketing / promotion, external communication, event planning, and campaign planning / execution. She stayed focused on the goal to drive specific audiences to take action both on and offline. Her experience as a coach, and drive as a dancer, made her a leader in her filed. She made her way from account executive, to director, ultimately becoming a general manager.
Ebonne leaves many who must carry on without her-mom: Fran, siblings: Tauryn, Samantha, and Renee (Ian Thiele); aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues, and friends too numerous to name. She joins her dad: Daniel; grandparents, cousin: Rodrick and many more cherished family members who preceded her in death.
