Deacon Simmons is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Ernestine L. Simmons; his children, Mrs. Diane S. (Jemme) Watson, Ms. Debra S. Wynn, Mr. Sammie K. Simmons, Jr., Ms. Priscilla S. Harvey, Ms. Timberly K. Simmons, and Ms. Kathia S. Smith; One Son-in-law - Mr. Kevin L. Reed; Grandchildren - Mrs. Tanya (Jonathan) Owens, Mrs. Shamitra (LaNear) McMurren, Mr. Robert A. Smith, Mr. Patrick Williams, Mrs. Sierra S. Hart, Mrs. Angel (Dexter) Williams, Rev. Jamaal Watson, Mr. Pierre (Precious) Settles, Miss TramiaThomas, Miss Indigo Reed, Mr. Daniel Reed; Eighteen Great-Grands and Four Great-Great-Grands; and Four Brothers - Moses (Gerlean) Simmons, Joseph (Mattie) Simmons, Danny (Hannelore) Simmons and Allen (Janice) Simmons; Six Sisters - Mary Eason, Annabelle Wright, Inez (David) Shuler, Geraldine (Gilbert) Rouse, Eva Mae Felder and Margaret (Herman) Washington, and numerous Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and other relatives and friends.

Viewing for Deacon Simmons will be on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00-8:00PM at Emanuel Baptist Church 106 Boone St. Summerville, SC. Wake services will begin at 6:00PM.
